Tom, be careful not to lose the 3d feel of your form. They are becoming very flat and crude now... look at the aforementioned sketch from phase 3. Sketch #4 from phase 4 (the rearview sketch) looks much more 3d. With what is sketched above, you could just draw a box with cutlines and call it a battery pack.
When it comes to interior design, it would be an interesting to create a space that correspond to the exterior design. try to come up with a design tat is intentionally ruggged, that clearly communicates that this is an off road racing car. right now, it looks like a generic sporty interior. as far as sketching tech is concerned, i think you could fade out elements that are not meant to be the center focus. sense of depth is lacking in the sketch due to every line and details having same intensity.
these are looking great! really like the feel of the last rendering. I recommend that you do something comparable for other designs that you did too (and go back to previous sketches from couple of phases ago and give them Ps brush). your portfolio will look great!
Pointers for correction:
for finished renderings... i would recommend that you add more to the wheel designs. wheels still look too low tech... the panels are supposed to open right? make it look as if i can open. it still look like decorative coverings.
the last highview sketch: it is missing the far wing on the left. it doesn't look symmetrical at this point.
Thanks for the comments David. I probably won't be able to get around to do a render with the wheel panels open before tomorrow, but that is definitely on the agenda for one of the final renderings. Talk to you tomorrow!
The profile view doesn't look exciting as the sketch from phase 3 page #2. Nice clean line of the cast shadow. wheels are looking better too.
ReplyDeletethanks David, I'll see if I can rectify that.

ReplyDeleteHey David, thanks for the tip. I redid the sketch, hopefully it's a bit better.
