Terra Prix Stories: Trekker
Team Chaos: Trekker
In 2085, global warming has thinned the ozone layer so much that dangers due to UV overexposure is prevalent in all corners of the globe. 90% of the worlds population now live in biodome-covered megacities, and rapid transportation between cities are only possible in UV-protected trains.
In an effort to raise awareness for the environment and test new technologies that could be incorporated into long distance transport vehicles as well as environmental research vehicles, the Terra-Pax Organization has joined forces with the International Prototype Racing Federation(IPRF) to organize Terra Prix 2085: A race around the world involving more than 20 teams from all over the world and traversing all 7 continents.
The entry from Team Chaos is the Trekker, a vehicle capable of traversing such diverse landscapes and outlasting all other racers to the finish line. However, in order to even attempt such as race, the vehicle must be well protected from the dangers of UV ray exposure. The entire exterior of the Trekker is coated with a UV deflection thin-film. The front shell of the Trekker is actually transparent, but only from the inside, sort of like a one way mirror.
Due to the weight saved from this method, the Trekker will be able to complete the entire journey solely based on the four battery packs alone, outlasting the other competitors to the finish line.

Advances in biotechnology have made rapid biodegradable battery packs a possibility. The Trekker employs four of them, and much like a rocket shedding its fuel tank, the Trekker will shed each battery pack once they are depleted into the environment with zero environmental damage.
Terra Prix Stories: Brutus
Team Mayhem: Brutus
In 2085, due to the progressive climate deterioration, permanent holes have formed in the stratosphere of the earth over large parts of Africa, Asia, and Europe. Without the protection of the Ozone from deadly gamma rays and occasional asteroids and comets from space, the areas beneath these holes are essentially wastelands devoid of humans for decades.
The entry from team Mayhem is Brutus, a vehicle specifically designed to endure and even thrive in the wasteland environments. The entire outer shell of the Brutus is made out of reinforced neo-titanium. It is coated with a special material that actually absorbs the harmful gamma rays and converts it into energy to drive the vehicle.
For added protection, the Brutus has no DLO – instead, it incorporate the latest in video-imaging technologies and basically projects a 360 degree view of the surroundings inside the cabin in crystal clarity, transforming the Brutus into what is essentially a light-weight racing tank.
The wheels of the Brutus are also a technological marvel in it of itself. All four wheels are encased by an outer casing of rubber-aluminum compound that offers protection against the intense heat of the dry wastelands. When entering cooler climates, the outer casing retracts to allows the natural tires to be exposed for better traction and speed.
Terra Prix Stories: WASP
Team Rampage: WASP concept.
The year is 2085, 85% of the earth’s land mass is tropical rainforest due to aggressive reforestation efforts by the global governments as well as the incremental warming of the sphere known colloquially as global warming.
The entry from team Rampage is the WASP concept, inspired by the long-extinct wasp creature that once inhabited much of the earth.
Like the ancient wasp, the WASP concept is fast, aggressive, and willing to win at all cost. A technological marvel, the WASP concept is specifically designed to traverse densely forested areas. Key technologies include night vision DLO, micro-fusion power generator, and a unique suspension system that gives the vehicle three distinct modes: the typical drive mode, a trek mode and a secret and illegal hover mode that is only used when race officials are not around!
Packed with so much technology, the speedy WASP is sure to come out victorious in the longest land-based race known to man!
